Kurudumale Sri Mahaganapathi Temple, Mulbagal
Another temple dedicated to Lord
Shiva called Someshwara temple is adjacent to the Ganesha temple. This temple
is an example of architectural expertise of temples in Karnataka. It is built
in the Hoysala style and the interesting fact of this temple is that, half of
the temple has different style of carving compared to the other half. It is
believed as former half was built by Jakanachari and the later half by his son
Dankanachari and to add to this an interesting engineering marvel of this
temple is that it is built of a rock without any foundation.
Kurudumale is located at a distance
of 12 km from Mulbagal and 110 kilometers from Bangalore. It is well connected
by roads. (Bangalore - Mulbagal NH4-Road)
