Adishakthyathmaka Sri Annapoorneshwari Temple, Horanadu
Sri Annapoorneshwari Temple is in Sri Kshetra Horanadu, the temple is situated on the banks of river Bhadra. The temple is surrounded by scenic beauty of natural vegetation, forest, green lands, and natural beauty of the Western Ghats.
Goddess Parvati is worshipped as the Goddess of food Annapoorna Devi. As per the legend, it is believed that Lord Shiva was once cursed to beg for alms and the curse was reversed when he accepted alms from Annapoorneshwari.

The deity of Adishakthyathmaka Sri Annapoorneshwari was consecrated in the temple by Sri Agasthya Maharishi several centuries back. The temple was a very small structure till the 5th Dharmakartharu late D.B.Venkata Subba Jois who taken the step towards renovating the temple in the year 1962 and the sanctum was completely renovated based on the vastushilpa, astrology and Hindu mythology. The punar prathistapana of the main deity Sri Annapoorneshwari was performed by Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyathirtha Mahaswamiji of Sringeri Sharada peetam on the auspicious day of "Akshaya Thadige" in the year 1973. The present Dharmakartharu of the temple is Sri G.Bheemeshwara Joshy and is the 7th Dharmakartharu of Adishakthyathmaka Sri Annapoorneshwari temple.
The name "Annapoorneshwari" means "Feeding one and all" (annaprasadam). The uniqueness of this temple is that everybody who visits this temple is provided with free food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) including a dessert made from Dal or Lentils as prasadam.
Hornadu is around 320 kms distance from Bangalore, Sringeri is around 75 kms and Chikmangalur is 100 kms away. Mangalore airport is the nearest airport. There is good connectivity of bus facility from Karnataka State Transport Service.

Accommodations are available to all the devotees in the Baktha Nivasa and Sri Annapoorna Sadhana lodge. Rooms are provided on the first come first serve basis and prior bookings are not accepted. If rooms are not available arrangements for sleeping will be made in the temple premises.
